JANE's Advice
September 2007

Q: I'm in my first relationship and am engaging in petting with my girlfriend. However, it seems like she is always feeling very sensitive or itchy wherever I touch her. I have read a book to learn a woman's sensitive spots - her face, neck and shoulders - but she doesn't like me doing it. Whenever I make close contact she pulls away and stops. I want to get closer, and be intimate. Is there anything I should know or read up about it?

A: Poor you, I'm sure you must be very frustrated! There are two ways to respond to this:-

  1. The Nice Way - you and your girlfriend need to communicate what turns you on and what turns you off. An honest chat is needed, since the current situation is torturous for both of you. If she's not open to finding out what she likes and trying new things, then best to find a more compatible partner. Good love making is a fundamental part of a good relationship, so it's important to achieve a balance of mental and physical compatibility.
  2. The Blunt Way - frankly, I'm amazed by the amount of emails I receive saying 'My girlfriend won't give me a blow-job' or 'My boyfriend won't go down on me' or 'My partner doesn't like sex.' I'm afraid that many Singaporeans appear to have huge sexual hang-ups, and come across as boring in bed and frigid. Perhaps this is due to sex traditionally being seen here as dirty, naughty, something to do to mistresses or prostitutes. A physical act purely for reproduction to be done with no foreplay and with the lights off. No sex before marriage (I adhere to the 'You have to try before you buy' school of thought to drastically increase the odds of having a sexually fulfilling marriage). The Roman Empire was more sexually advanced! So Singaporean guys - get your noses down there and enjoy it! And Singapore ladies - get down and dirty and put a sexy smile on your face! Above all, IT'S FUN! I can't understand why many people here don't LOVE IT mmm…

Good Luck!
