Q: My boyfriend of two years has cheated on me several times with one-night stands. Now I've caught him doing it again and have threatened to leave but he's told me he loves me, will change this behaviour and wants us to get married. I do love him, despite his philandering ways, and want to believe that he'll stop sleeping with other women. Should we get hitched?

A: His history shows he's a serial cheat and unfortunately cheats don't generally change their ways. If he can't stay faithful to you within the first two years of your relationship, then it's unlikely he'll stay faithful when you're married in years to come. This type of relationship would be difficult and upsetting for you - best to end it now.
