Q:My friends call me the ‘bombshell’ since I’m a mature, sexy woman and love men and sex. I admit I’ve slept with a lot of men, many of them know each other, and it’s well known in a small town like this. Now my friends joke about my conduct in front of me and I don’t find it funny even if they do. I don’t like my reputation of being easy and unfussy – can I change it at this late stage?

A:People can always make a fresh start. Tell your close friends the past is the past and you want to change. Ask them to stop joking about you, particularly in front of people you don’t know well. If they’re good friends they’ll do as you wish and support you. Then behave differently so that your current reputation becomes yesterday’s news.
