A bit of Q & A with our Queen of Hearts, Aphrodite:

Q1: I desperately want to meet Mr. Right. I’m in my late thirties and feel like time is running out. The pool of men is ever decreasing - I only seem to meet bitter divorcees with ready made families, cheating marrieds and eternal playboys. This isn’t what I envisioned. I can’t believe I’m nearly forty and haven’t met the man I want to marry and have children with. I feel like I’m obsessed with it and it’s getting me down. What more can I do?

A1: Feeling ‘desperate’ and ‘depressed’ isn’t going to attract the right man to you I’m afraid. Start my making a list of the most important qualities the man of your dreams would have. Read it and know that’s what you want and what you’re going to attract (well at least 80% of the wish list!). Then make some positive moves to meet him. Joining a dating agency may seem drastic and scary, but you know that the men who have joined are looking for a committed relationship. Q2: My husband and I would like to know if you recommend any books on the subject of sex.

Q3: When I met my wife she was so sweet and nice to me, but since we’ve got married she’s completely changed. She’s simply nasty to me – bossing me around, critising me all the time, and spending all my money! I’m trying hard to be nice to her but she’s getting worse. I don’t know what’s changed. I can’t cope with her behavior and feel totally miserable. This isn’t the woman I married. I’m sadly contemplating divorce.

A3: Divorce is an option, but the last resort. Before going there seek professional couples counseling. An external objective person may be able to help you work through your issues.

Don’t feel alone, as you’re not the first or last person to experience this. Does she even know she’s doing this? Why is she so angry with you? Or is it something else, and she’s taking it out on you? These are some of the questions that professional counseling will explore with you. Best of luck!
