A1: Sadly, being in love with someone doesn’t stop you from catching STDs. There is a saying ‘When you sleep with someone you sleep with all their previous sexual partners,’ and it only takes one to carry something nasty. Many people seem to think STDs don’t apply to ‘nice, ordinary’ people – in reality anyone can catch one. Safe sex is the only option. If your relationship is serious, then both get a comprehensive health check and advice from your doctor before foregoing condoms.

A2: It’s all about confidence – maintaining eye contact and good posture instantly make you look self-assured. Focus on open body language, a welcoming smile and keeping the conversation light (best to avoid topics you may disagree about, such as politics, religion, who will be the next Pop Idol). Above all, remember you’re a fun and interesting person to be with and that there is a person out there for you.

A3: While practice makes perfect, don’t ever feel inadequate. Relax and enjoy – it’s not a test or competition to see who knows the most moves! Focus on the pleasurable sensations, on giving as well as receiving, and no doubt it will be a lovely experience. People may come in all shapes and sizes, ages and nationalities, but sensational lovemaking is achievable by all. A4: This is a romantic ideal to have and you should do what feels right for you. I can’t tell you what to do. You must follow your heart and beliefs.
However, personally I think ‘Try before you buy’ is likely to raise any potential problems in the bedroom that may impact your relationship. Afterall, successful relationships connect on many levels, emotionally and physically. Life has also taught me that unfortunately sometimes ‘You have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your Prince!’ In a nutshell, do what’s right for you. I don’t like to judge people.
