Where have all the gentlemen gone?
There was a time when men opened doors to let ladies through and gave up their seat on the MRT or bus. Sadly, it seems the days of chivalry are well and truly over. Having doors shut in your face or standing for 6 stops in killer heels isn’t fun – men have no idea what we go through. I’m constantly holding doors open for people yet no-one even notices, least of all says ‘thank you.’ What happened to good manners? I was offered a seat on the MRT recently by a lady who thought I was pregnant. Rather than having a cat fight and pulling her hair I took her seat and patted my belly affectionately. Rather that than take the humiliation of saying the immaculate conception part two hasn’t happened! So I guess if you want a seat ladies puff out your tummy and fain pregnancy!
