Question: Since my divorce four months ago I've suffered from terrible insomnia. Recently, I've started having panic attacks too and crying a lot. In truth, I'm scared of living on my own and am sad that I no longer have a companion to share my life with. I feel very alone and hate the idea of being on my own. What should I do?
Answer: The stress of your divorce and major change in your life has lead to your not being able to sleep and your mind overworking. It is a highly stressful period for you but remember that you will adjust your lifestyle in time and will get used to (and even enjoy!) being single. Be proactive and widen your social circle by gaining new interests and joining clubs that will help fill your time doing fun things and therefore fill your life. Doing new things and meeting new people will leave no time for feeling lonely - good luck!
